[Kerala University English Teacher Educator’s Forum - KUETEF]

Space constraint led to the deletion of the detailed description of the Content for  all the papers in the final  version of the BEd. Curriculum published in the  Kerala University Website. The  final version in fact  states:

The components of the curriculum have been presented in the following order.

Unit 1: Pedagogic Content Knowledge Analysis(PCKA)
*Concept of Pedagogy, Pedagogical Principles, Objectives of Pedagogic Analysis
*Pedagogic Content Knowledge (PCK)-Its scope in  teaching and learning of Course Book.
*Content Analysis of Course Book-Secondary level:
-Identifying  concepts, themes, language elements, literary discourses
-Sequencing of content knowledge
-Locating deficiencies in the content

Unit 2: Instructional Objectives
*Bloom’s Taxonomy of Instructional Objectives(revised)
*Instructional Objectives and Specifications of teaching English
*Process skills with reference to teaching  and learning English
*Mental Processes
*Development of thinking skills- Critical, Creative and Problem Solving


Unit 3: Planning and designing  the Teaching Manual/Lesson Plan
* Relevance of planning-Year Plan, Unit Plan  and Lesson Templates

* Incorporating activities, strategies for spoken and written discourse construction
