[Kerala
University English Teacher Educator’s Forum - KUETEF]
As
intimated by email, the Teacher Educators of Kerala University Colleges of
Teacher Education had undergone a three-day Orientation Programme from 26 to 28
November 2013. Based on our request, English Teacher Educators from other
colleges were permitted to attend the Orientation. This generous gesture of the University authorities helped those who missed the Orientation
Programme organized at Karmela Rani Training College on 26 October 2013 to
familiarize themselves with the new BEd curriculum.
I was directed
to engage sessions during the
Orientation Programme. 17 Teacher
Educators were present on 27th and 20
were present on 28th November. The sessions were organized in a
Workshop mode following a briefing on the nature of the work to be
completed :
Four Groups were formed to work on the following:
Group I
*Preparation
of a Two Column Lesson Plan for a
content prescribed for Std XI/XII.
The Group
was directed to prepare the Lesson Plan as specified in P 17 of the Curriculum:
[The prescribed
lesson template consists of two columns viz, Classroom Interaction Procedure and Expected
Pupil Responses. Each lesson
template should have a composition of items like Curricular statements, Learning outcomes, Content Analysis,
Pre-requisites, Teaching-Learning Resources, Formative Evaluation Procedures
including Review and Follow-up activities]
Group
II
*Identifying
of new Micro Teaching skills and their components. (ie; Skills in addition to the ten already mentioned in EDU-05.2
Unit 1V P149 of the Curriculum) The Group was also
directed to prepare a format for Peer
Evaluation of Micro Teaching.
Group III
*Preparation of a Computer/ICT enabled lesson
Group

* Script
for a Video Lesson
The four Groups have been directed to email their
material to me. Copies of the same along with the Specimen Lesson Plans and
Scripts supplied is proposed to be distributed to the participants of the next
meeting of KUETEF (which will be held shortly) for whetting before publishing
in this Blog.
